Things to carry while you move Abroad for Studying:
When you are going to study abroad, you get one of the best feelings when everything is packed and you’re ready to go live your dream. But getting to that stage is quite a struggle. After you have secured admission in an institute, got your student visa and booked your flight, you may wonder “how can I pack my entire life into two suitcases?”While it is a daunting task, you shouldn’t keep putting it off until the very last minute. This article will guide you in determining what things you need to carry when you go to study abroad.
Clothes
While the types of clothes you carry with yourself depend on your personal preference, you should make sure that you know the weather of the new country you are going to live in. Does the country have extremely cold or hot temperatures at some periods during the year? Does it rain a lot?Asking these questions would help you decide what clothes you need and what would just increase the weight of your baggage.Besides the weather, you should also consider how long will you stay there after you come back to visit your home country. If you are going, for example, for one semester when it would be winters, it is a good idea to take more winter clothes than summer clothes. Thereafter, when you get back home again, you can take summer clothes with you.
Toiletries
You should realize that the new country you would be living in is not from outer space and you would have stores where you can easily shop for toiletries. However, you may not get products from certain brands. Therefore, if you are attached to a certain brand of, let’s say, shampoo, you may take a couple of bottles with you. But remember to never go overboard with it.
Other bits and bobs
You cannot take your whole house with you abroad. But here are some other small things you should not forget:
Laptop (ensure that it is packed and placed in a safe place)
Phone (how can you forget this?)
Chargers for laptop, phone and any other electronic appliance
Plug adapters in case you need them
Photos of your family and friends (don’t forget them!)
Small things like a string of fairy lights for your bedroom to make you feel at home
A towel
Bags (everyday bag, practical bag and a ‘going-out’ bag)
Of course, there are going to be other important stuff you will need to carry like your documents or medication. But all you need to make sure is that you take the minimum amount of things wherever possible.
